SAD/Seas. Affective Disorder/ Mood DIsorders

HI....It's that time of year.  I am a SAD sufferer and married to a now sober alcoholic.  Anyway, there is a new book released in 2005 by Dr. Norman Rosenthal on Seasonal Affective Disorder.   www.normanrosenthal.com     I was able to check one out for free by ordering it from my local library system.

Also, there is a new book out on "Beating the Blues"  New Approaches to Overcoming Dysthymia and Chronic Mild Depression, by Michael Thase and Susan Lang.  paperback, March 23, 2006.  Also through the library system.

I can say that living with an alcoholic can be too much for us!  It can leave us with mood disorders and I encourage anyone to check this possibility out as well.  These books give symptoms and mood charts that I was better able to track my symptoms and get better control over how I feel....along with help from my counselor and psych. doctor.

Wallsal55,

I too am dealing a bit with SAD, as well as living with a sober A.  I am usually upbeat most of the time, but it does get tough sometimes.  Thanks for the info, I am going to check that book out.

Love,

Kathi
