I hate this disease, I just received this e-mail from a close friend. My heart is breaking -- you know divorce/separation doesn't separate us from the pain of this disease. My friend has been divorce from her AH for 4 yrs. She has been thru so much Hell, but she has walked thru it and is an inspiration to me. I just hate this disease. He is 44. Their kids are 11 & 9.
Your prayers are appreciated.
L,
I am so sorry we have not gotten by there. Life is SO twisted right now. Their father is in the hospital and will not be leaving. The cirrhosis is so bad his liver is 5 times the normal size. It has all but quit functioning. At this point they are just trying to keep him drugged up. It all hit (D) last night. I thought my heart would truly split in two. (S) doesn't grasp the full meaning yet, but I will tell him this weekend, if (AH) is still with us then. (D) and I are going to Hosp again tonight. He needs to pray before it is too late. If he can't (D) will for him. Surely God will hear a childs prayer for her Daddy.
It just all seems like a bad dream. You know you sit around and talk about something for so long, then when it happens it doesn't seem real.
If we don't see you today, I will leave the glasses at the desk in the office first thing tomorrow. She can get them when she comes in to school.
WOW...44...that is such a shame. I will say a prayer for those young children that have to go through this and watch their daddy die from this horrible disease.
I don't know what else to say except that I am very sad right now.
Many prayers and hugs and love to your friend and her family, and to you as well. I am so sorry that the disease has progressed this far. It is so devastating to all involved, all we can hope for is that someone learns from this A's fate and their life is saved by seeing him suffer. I pray for peace for all of you.... and strength at this horrible time.
