Another storm is working its way across the country. I'm in NY and we are predicting high winds (up to 50 mph) and up tp 2" of rain this afternoon. Right now it is 65 degrees and some dandelions have sprouted! Schools have dismissed early because of the coming storm. Then tomorrow it's suppose to turn to freezing rain! Only HP knows what is going to happen.
To all of you effected by the storm, stay safe. Batten down the hatches. Let me know that you are all safe and sound. To my Texas friends, hope you stayed warm. Diva was it a taste of the your NY days? Wherever you all are, you are in my prayers. If I don't talk to you for a few days it's because we might loose power. But I have to have faith that HP will take care of us. I pray for the others who were worse off than we are.
Hubby, Pipers Kitty and I are preparing for the rain, ice and who knows what else. Things are being up as we speak, and we have extra supplies on hand. Piper has her stuffed mice.
Love and blessings to all of you.
Live strong,
Karilynn, Hubby and Pipers Kitty

What a storm it is!!!! I've never seen anything like it. Here, we had freezing rain for about 12 hrs. Last night during the freezing rain it was thundering and lightening!! How weird!!! The stuff piled up about 4" high. I'm used to snow doing that but this stuff is crazy. Everything is encased in ice. After that stoppd it started to snow. I can't tell what is ice out there and what is snow and I don't plan on going out there to find out. Our Airport is closed, there are many many people w/o power, thank HP I am not one of them.
My son walked to a friends house last night because I made him park his car. Gracie isn't here anymore so it's just me and Louie (the jack russel). I let him out on the back deck this morning and he decided to wee wee on on the deck instead of attempingt the stairs..lol This is his first snow and he was walking in it like a Lippizaner Stallion.
Last night when I let him out to potty in the freezing rain, it was making a lot of noise as it came down. He ran in circles trying to figure out who or what was pelting him...too funny.
I am grateful today that Gracie chose yesterday to get sick (I think she had a stroke). With her arthritis it was a production to get her up and down the stairs to go potty w/o snow and ice, let alone this stuff. I'm not sure how I would have done it today.
I have 4-wheel drive but it doesn't do a bit of good on ice. I got groceries On Tues. when I got home from Alaska, I have heat (so far) and a big picture window to watch all the white stuff and the kids having a blast sledding sliding.
It's been a heart wrenching week with saying goodbye to hubby for another 30 days, a long flight home and then putting Gracie to rest. I'm happy to have nowhere to go and am enjoying watching life happen around me while I sit and watch with my hot cup of green tea in my flannel moose jammies hubby bought for me at 11:30 in the morning. Life is good :)

To all that are facing that terrible storm, I'm praying that all will be safe & warm. Here in Louisiana, yesterday our temperatures fell almost 20 degrees in about 2 hours. Of course, we had a little rain, but no sleet, ice or snow. We very seldom get those weather conditions. I'm sure that you in the Northern part of the States are prepared - Praying that the storm lessens and things are not as bad as predicted.
Christy, hate to hear about your loss of Gracie, please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
Karilynn, hope that there will be no more flooding in your home!!
Love & Hugs to all - please be careful -
Rita

Hope you stay bundled. I am still trying to thaw out from this Texas weather. It is melting for the most part, but it will just freeze again when the sun stops to melt it. I can imagine it to be far more dangerous there. Hope you and all stay safe and warm.
Happy to report that we are all safe and sound. We got some rain, and it was a bit scary there for a few hours. We had thunderstorm and tornado warnings for about 3 hours. We are fine the patio didn't flood. The only real excitement was telling my neighbor that he couldn't shovel his water from his patio into mine because he never cleans it! Why clog up my drain.
It is now cold and feels like a December day should. Still windy and some people to the East of us got hit hard. Happy that father-in-law is okay. Now I can put back my things when I get home from work. Next week it's time to make this place feel like Christmas!
Thanks for all your love and prayers. Hope everyone is still safe and sound. Keep us posted.
Love and blessings to all of you.
Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
