Hey everyone watch me grow. I go thru good & bad times. each day i am getting stronger.
I have a daughter who is 35 and has Hep C. In her younger days she got caught up in the world of drugs (her father was a drug dealer) and this is a result.
She was diagnosed several years ago and does keep her appointments with he Dr and takes better care of herself now. Otherwise she is doing well.
My hubby found out he had Hep C when a few years ago, he took some acis and truned yellow . When his specialist was talking to me he said asked me if we shared razors, or tooth brushes amd a few other personal questions (about the type of sex we have), and since I answerd no to all of those he said that the chances of me having it were almost non-existent. I don't have it, and over the years we have been careful to not do the things that the doctor asked me about.
The really interesting thing is that last year hubby finally had medical benefits, so he went to another specialist to begin the atifeuron (spelling?) treatment. And the doctor did some blood test and the next week when hubby went back he got the best news ever. Somehow his body had gotten rid of the Hep C, all the doc could find in the blood was antibodies. I wouldn't have believed it, but when hubby came home from that appointment, he brought me the proof, his lab results. The doc thinks since that hubby was young, 21 when diagnosed, that his body fought it off. Hubby is only the second person in our county that the doc has seen this happen to. Hubby took this as a sign that HP saved his butt and promised to get back into recovery. Well I know HP was at work in this, but hubby hasn't stayed clean.
You are in my prayers hun!
Yours in recovery,
Mandy

Oh dear. I am so sorry. I know it is not easy but if possible try to slow your thinking down. Get yourself busy if you can.
My father has Hep C, he got it through a blood transfusion (spelling). My mother was tested and she does not have it. Just recently, I found out it is mainly carried through the blood and sex does not effect it.
I was just talking to person yesterday about someone else with Hep C and they told me the same thing, carried through the blood and not sex. In the past sex used to be thought of as a way to carry it.
I am not sure if that helps you feel any better. I am praying for both of you.
I was wondering how things came out yesterday. I want you to know that you've been on my mind.
Depending on where you live, the board of health will have resources. In some areas, obviously bigger areas, there might even be support groups for people who have Heps. Institutions like the Nat'l Institute of Health, the American Medical Assn., the Centers for Disease Control will also have information about Hep. and the different forms. They will also have current and up to date information on treament, how to effectively manage symptoms, and things like that.
I understand how scared you must feel. I still remember what it was like when I got a CT scan, and all the results said "cancer." It wasn't until I got the biopsy that I had any difinitive answers, and then of course my parents had been absolute blow holes about the whole thing. Please know you are loved. Please don't give up on yourself, and let one of us love you.
