An old Arab, whose tent was pitched next to a company of whirling dervishes was asked, "Don't they bother you?" "No!" was his answer. "What do you do about them?" "I let them whirl."
Wouldn't that be easier? Instead of trying to control a whirlwind?
Probably any one of us can get along with perfect people, but our task is to get along with imperfect people. The worst part of trying to get along with imperfect people is that they refuse to change into what we want.
When I think about how hard it is to change myself, I know how hard it will be to change others.
I don't know where my sponsor got this but oh so true!
I like that. Let 'em whirl......really what else can we do? They are gonna whirl wether we like it or not.Taking care of ourselves is staying out of the path.
wow thought provoking and I know i can't change no one but me!!!! And changing me is enough for me..... When I do think about changing others I look at what I am trying to change and it is the same thing I need to work on for myself... I am grateful for this program and for this thought for today!!!
