Shadow got me thinking....can each one of you write at least 5 things you are grateful for?

We tend to find ourselves dwelling on the negative more than the positive. This is what this disease does to us. We tend to wallow and get stuck on the pity pot,,,,, when things are living, blooming, laughing, enjoying life all around us! I for one am guilty of that. Small things that surround us each day is something we overlook and take for granted........

I have a bed to sleep in

roof over my head

family

friends

food in my fridge

music

flowers

sunrises & sunsets

a warm coat

a pair of shoes/boots

alanon when we need help

Like to wish all us Canucks a Happy Thanksgiving! And to our neighbours to the south.....give thanks to what you have!...............

Great idea.

Lets see...

My HP - who even when I forget he is there - he is there to help me whether I ask or not.

My program - to which I often credit my life as I know it today.

Earning some money through some hard work of a tag sale.

My daughter being home from school for the weekend.

My son for having his Toga party at his father's house and not at mine  LOL.

My husband who despite working nights stayed up to help me set up for tag sale.

A beautiful sunny fall weekend.

1.) My amazing, understanding, loving daughter

2.) My going-thru the Terrible Two's step granddaughter

3.) My Family, my friends who love me in spite of who I am

4.) My job, which I currently hate, but hey, it pays the bills (kinda)

5.) My kitties who love me unconditionally

6.) Al-anon's presence in my life

7.) HP's love and guidance

When I first read your post, I thought, awww, man, right now I feel like crap, and I'm not really grateful for anything.  My life stinks.  But, you know, I listed 7, and I got a whole lot more where that came from!

Love in Recovery,

Becky1
