A going away poem from mac

One day at dawn


 


One day at dawn we walked along


My sleepy girl and I,


As the sun rose through the trees,


As the leaves moved in the breeze.


 


A treasure field gleamed drops of dew,


The yawning sky went baby blue,


A rabbit stayed to see us by


As a dove on a line lay just so high.


 


There by the lane at the edge of the trees


Stood two daisies proud and pleased,


Just enough cover to nestle there


And ample sun for them to share.


 


Do they know we’ve stopped to see?


Do they know themselves to be?


Do they hear the morning dove,


See the bunny, the dew, the love?


 


In all the places one can grow


Two daisies side by side, we know,


One is tall, the other fine,


Can one be yours, the other mine?


 


Shall we pick them, take them home,


Or shall we leave them all alone?


Seems to be their home is here,


Seems to be they know that, dear.

Enjoy your time with sleepy girl.  Give her a hug for me.  My grandfather use to call my grandmother "Sleepyhead" .  You struck a cord.  Thanks for making my day.

Just like you always do you say soo much in such a beautiful way mac. You don't need to pick the daisies because that love you share with your daughter can't be taken away or moved from the source of the love you create between the two of you. 


I just bet you are taking a large spiral notebook with you my dear friend. Enjoy your vacation, you deserve to have a wonderful time!
