February 17 C2C Faith

Today's Courage to Change topic is Faith. The reading begins with a reminder that my vision be limited by only the outcomes that I can imagine. It suggests that when one places faith in their Higher Power the possibilities are limitless. This takes practice when fear looms large but the reading suggests expressing a willingness through prayer to Let Go and Let God help. A few quotes from this reading offer encouragement. " In, fact, some of the most wondrous events grow out of what appear to be disasters." "Today I know that even when my situation looks bleak and I can't see any way out, miracles can happen if I turn my will and my life over to God."

Today's quote - "In the hour of adversity be not without hope for crystal rain falls from black clouds." Persian poem

At times it seems the world is changing at such a rapid pace that I can hardly keep up with it all. I'm so grateful to have a program like Al-anon to keep me grounded and present. Today's Reminder says, "If I develop the habit of turning to my Higher Power for help with small everyday matters, I'll know what to do when faced with more difficult challenges." The reading emphasizes the value of a loving higher power as a constant in one's life. I can make a conscious choice to continue to believe that my hp is lovingly guiding my every day life. It's a relapse in my program when I allow my own fears or even perhaps the machinations of others rule my thinking and life.  Today I choose to live fully present and in service to the God of my understanding.

Thank you TT for your reading and share. I feel lucky that I came to program with faith in place, and my involvement with alanon has only deepened this relationship. I pray each morning, talk to HP throughout the day, often I am thanking God and other times asking for guidance. Even with my brother having cancer, I can find many things to be grateful for everyday. HP and this program, including all the program people that help me along the way, have changed my life in a very positive way. Gratitude here. :)
