In today's reading it is about the spiritual foundation of one of Al-Anon's Traditions, "anonymity."

The author tries to impress on the reader the importance of both the members and the alcoholics

anonymity and the obligation membership has to provide for each other a safe, free from labels

environment in order to reap the benefits of the program.

Todays Reminder:

"In taking my place among the thousands of anonymous individuals who make up the Al-Anon Family Groups,

I know that I never again have to be alone."  "I won't jeopardize this valuable resource by violating its most

fundamental spiritual principle."

Todays Quote:

"Each person should be able to leave an Al-Anon meeting secure in the knowledge that what he or she has

shared will not be repeated." ~ Why Anonymity in Al-Anon?

It is so very important to protect one's identity and the identity of those around us concerning what we talk

and write concerning our meetings and forums.  I feel that this Tradition I will honor at all times.

Thanks Debbie for your service and share. Yes, this is a very important tradition and foundation for our program. But I do have to laugh at myself, at the way my attitude has changed over time. When I first started F2F meetings, I was so afraid someone would talk about me outside of the rooms. Worse, would be that someone I know from my professional life would show up at my meeting. And now, years later, I don't care if someone talks about me, or shows up at my meeting. I'm so grateful for the wisdom and tools from alanon, that I'm just proud of myself for being serious about my recovery. I keep coming back because it works when I work it. :)
