The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method

information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
Today's writer starts with the quote of talk of tomorrow, 'the gods laugh' because the future is not predictable...we have no choice but to live one day at a time.
I can plan, but cannot control or determine outcomes, nor the circumstances that will change along the way.
This concept can be reduced to smaller units of time as necessary to limit my focus to this moment, rather than galloping into future projections or reliving the past. When I focus only on this moment, I am conscious of the most important fact: I am alive and well.
Reminder - Fears of tomorrow affect today only if I hang onto them; let them go and I have room for joy, growth, celebration of good things in my life. All I truly have is this day, make it the most fully alive day I've lived.
"Do not be anxious about tomorrow; tomorrow will look after itself" - bible ------------------ I had no idea how much fear influenced my life until the gift of desperation guided me toward the concepts of Alanon, and this principle in particular.
When I challenged myself, I realized that I could not feel anxiety if I successfully reduced my experience to the actual moment (actually the conception of the present moment that lags just slightly), I could not experience anxiety...my anxiety requires unification of past and future into expected outcomes.
Simple, powerful...Alanon
So grateful

Thanks Paul for your service and for all above ESH. I have also learned that clinging to fear, either past or future, spoil the day I have. I led a fear-based life and this has not been easy for me, to change my daily mindset . But with practice and patience, it can be done. Our program has so many special and wonderful tools for living life. Always grateful.
Good Morning Everyone. When I read this yesterday I was unable to find the words to convey my feelings of how all the shares resonated me. At times I worry (ha ha) that my writing skills don't equal yours. Anyways, this morning a program pal sent me the following text:" Worry is a conversation you have with yourself about things you cannot change. Prayer is a conversation you have with God about things He can change". Have a wonderful Wednesday.
