A Share...

aww ...being in a group- it is important to keep the focus on oneself...

We don't have to be perfect- in fact it is better that we are not.

I was unintelligent talented kid- but locked down afraid to budge an inch.

And my ability to learn was strangled. I have had to release that capacity, after a desperate appeal to my higher power.

Tonight I plan to get to a f2f meeting. 50 minutes away. There are growing signs for Alanon in our district. Unless there are groups in Patagonia this would be the most southern district in the world.

For me the brain fog has lifted.

Professional help is now available for C-PTSD... but I had to winkle it out. I suspect there is only one practitioner in the country- so far- who has embraced new teachings and therapy- and she lives here in the mountains.

The dynamic is a little different where the patient asks for therapy and the therapist offers it.

I have to work diligently and gently from the inside out to make it work.

It does sound to me a bit like rebirth. Maybe it is- without the usual hocus pocus that used to surround alternative medicine.

And At the same time I am reaching out. Mostly towards people I have known for many years...

People whose history I share- which is a great advantage. smile ...

And I have used this group as  base. MIP Alanon.

This group, for me has drawn together a range of Alanon influences- from may parts of the globe.

It seems to emerge as how we can approach Alanon recovery in 2020, going on 2021. aww

Surely not the only approach- but a very good example.

I feel so proud to be a part of this group! smile .

Hi David!!

So appreciate hearing from you and reading your shares/ESH.

I agree, concerning being part of a group, that it rounds out, so to speak, the Al-Anon experience.

The friendship and exchange gives us all a cushion to fall back on when we are trying to work our way through tough times.

Sharing our ESH and our interpretations/life experiences helps one another to see from direct perspectives. Al-Anon has

iterated, there are benefits to it being a global organization!!

Looking forward to 2021 for sure and very proud to be part of MIP as well.

Thanks for sharing David. I always like reading what you have to say.

Cptsd is a hard thing to deal with. Where I live it's not even in the DSM so it's not diagnosed ,a PTSD diagnosis is given instead, which I have .
