Today is going to be a smooth day I think. I am sleeping so good it is starting to become a habit. Wouldn't that be nice? Sleeping naturally to this insomniac. I know how much my soul awakens when I get sleep. I am a different person & I kinda like me.
Christmas is coming & this is one year I am looking for to. I can say that the year has been eventful but really not in a bad way. Even losing my mom wasn't a life crusher. I mean the beginning of the year really stunk. I had to change providers for my medical & a big change in my counseling/ psych nurse. I hate it sometimes but still it wasn't the worst year I have had. Before I was blessed to have joined & went to my first meeting in January of 1986 I had the worst year of my life. I am so grateful that is one decision I made that has blessed me beyond measure. You are all a gift that keeps on giving.
I am also grateful that this year I spent more time talking to my cousin in CO that I have contacted in the last 2 years. Talk about a blessing! I am so grateful that we found each other. I can't believe how we have so much in common. I have another cousin in CA that I have been in touch w/ for about 9 years. She wrote a children's book which I have been so excited about.
Speaking of writing, I have finished what I believe has been the best story that I could write, my life story. It is a gem if I say so myself. I am very grateful for all the good memories.
So, to all of you who have been reading my posts over the years, I never had it so good!
I love you all & pray that however you celebrate this season, I will be celebrating w/ you!
Kathleen, thank you for your gratitude post. IT was very uplifting and gave me inspiration to write my own life story, something I've been meaning to do for some time now. I have been feeling rather "down in the dumps" lately and vow to start making a gratitude list every day to help me with this. Today's gratitude list includes my daughter who has graciously opened her home to me and is helping me to find a new job in my new town of residence. Also on my gratitude list is the long list of friends and relatives that are praying for me over this matter. A cup of hot coffee and a belly full of breakfast is another thing I'm grateful for today. Plenty of 12 step groups in my area of residence is also a blessing, seeing how I live in a mostly rural area this is a miracle in and of itself. I am thankful for the rain yesterday and replenishing the dry earth. And last but certainly not least is this message board where I can share my feelings, concerns and gratitude.

Hi Kathleen
Thank you for your share. Its great to hear people doing great things; doing things they want to for themselves.
I share the sentiment of the silver lining amidst the hardship and suffering of this virus. I too have been closer with my family due to zoom. Before we would wait months to see each other when one could travel to the other. Wed wait too long to even talk. Now they are in my life regularly with birthdays, game nights, and happy hours. Its not the same as being in person but its still being together, sharing thoughts, having discussions, having laughs and enjoying each other. Im so grateful for this. I also am grateful for the way were so present and engaged on zoom. I remember times my family got together and I went home thinking I didnt really spend enough time with someone. On zoom were all right there looking at each other the whole time.
Thoughts, prayers and strength to everyone out there getting through this their own way.
Thank you for lifting my spirits and reminding me that there is Joy all around if I just look for it!! Congrats on finishing your book! Does it have a title, and will you try and publish? I have cousins in CO as well. You reminded me that I should reach out. TY
&
