Service work

Aloha family I am in with a service work interest.  I have done Public Information within our program off and on for years. Now I am back at it with renewed energy.  I went shopping the other day and was scoping out the ice cream section (like ice cream) yet was noticing something I had not before which is there is new product on the shelves of a local marketer which openly advertises alcohol in their flavors.   Have you seen this also. (if you have would you send me your thoughts, feelings and actions regarding it?)  Ice Cream is in the "family" mode of the market and it caters to the family including the children and also their caretakers.  I am appalled because of the ongoing multiple health and social problems we have with the chemical alcohol.  This isn't merely an oversight and just a justification to increase revenue.  This is blatantly a denial of the problems we have with the centuries old disease of alcoholism and an ongoing attempt to capitalize on it.

Let me know what your ESH is so I can grow more in service toward recovery.   Mahalo

On the other issue that I also don't have much control if any but a little (prayer, meditation, hope and such), it is moving forward extending the 125 year journey and struggle for sovereign independence by my island nation.  It is moving in a positive direction I think as I am also aware that our struggle on the right side of justice.  If you have any extra prayers laying around please offer them up with a note, "LET IT BE".   Mahalo and Love.   ((((Hugs))))  aww

Hey brother - good to see you, love your 'action attitude'! I have not seen alcohol in ice cream here, but we are in a strange state with some interesting alcohol laws. Our grocery stores aren't allowed to sell anything 'larger' than 3.2 beer - no wine, no hard liquor, etc. If you want 'more than 3.2 beer', you must go to a liquor store. However, we border a state that has more 'normal liquor laws'. I'll venture over there in the near future and take a walk on the wild side. Because of where I live, it's really strange for me to go to a grocery store in the next state or even Walmart and see a full range of alcohol options!

I've been praying for you and your island nation since I stumbled upon the blog I mentioned to you. Love to here things are moving forward in a positive direction - tells me the power of faith and prayers is once again 'working'. I'll have to catch an update and know that I stand with you from afar!

Love and light and (((hugs))) too!

(((((((((((((Jerry))))))))))))) hey mate, good to see you back and WOW!!!! alcohol in Ice Cream???? thats awful...Ice Cream means kids...family....get togethers regarding family members of all ages....but especially kids and I've not seen it here, but it does not surprise me..Like the cigarette folks using glamour and everything they could to advertise the cancer sticks...now its alcohol and its been that way, TV, Internet, etc., Here we can get alcohol everywhere....grocery stores, 7-11 types...beer/wine and I think booze in the larger stores...not sure...don't "go there" but I see it....its right there..in your face when you are walking the isles looking for something to eat or season your food with....

I am appalled as much as you are...This is terrible...the stuff should be kept separate from ANYthing that relates to kids, especially...oh yea, lets "teach the little ones how much fun it is to get high on your ice cream" NOT!!!!! I am with you on this!!!!!

Apparently it's been discovered how to make ice cream with alcohol content that survives the freezing. Wouldn't it be nice if they used those scientific brains to cure cancer?

In situations like that I just try to live by my principles. Maybe I would stop patronizing that store as long as they carry that product. Maybe I would tell the store owner that's what I'm doing. Maybe I would write to the CEO of the company that makes the ice cream, inform them about the toll of alcohol on people and families, and let them know I will not buy any products they make. I could set that boundary for myself, so at least I'm not contributing to the problem.
