The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method

information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The ODAT reading for today speaks about the confusion that many of us live in prior to finding alanon. It suggests that swirling thoughts and inappropriate actions were our go to reactions when confronted with choices. We did not know that "Easy Does It' or the serenity prayer could interrupt these swirling messages and allow us to "THINK" and process in a constructive manner.
The quote is perfect:"Quietness is a great ally my friend As long as I keep my poise, I will do nothing to make bad matters worse.
"Easy Does it but do it" has become my go to slogan Spent a lovely day at the beach and so love summer.
Thank you Betty for the daily, your service and ESH! So glad to hear you had a lovely day at the beach. I am a huge fan of summer weather too!
I am getting ready to get horizontal - a bit bummed....both my professional teams lost! And yes - I was flipping between the two searching for the 'better outcome'...
I know I came to Al-Anon full of reactive thinking, behavior, and emotions. Pausing to consider a 'best or better response' was not a tool I ever used - I just went from the hip. Living with the disease had created enough insanity in me that 'shooting from the hip' was not a productive plan and kept the swirling mind going.
I love Easy Does It and THINK and WAIT also - very simple slogans with great outcomes for my serenity. My crazy brain can complicate a nap if I don't do all that I can to stay centered.
Sleep tight my friend and have an awesome weekend!
