The past week has been challenging here in Italy with powerful earthquakes and a lot of disruption for thousands of people in our neighbourhood.
Apparently we have had 700 aftershocks in the past two days alone, and I would guess that about half of those are felt. They are instant reminders of the three very frightening bigger quakes that we've experienced this week. There is a lot of adrenalin running in all of our veins!!
So in addition to being incredibly grateful that our home is still standing, I'm also very grateful for my Al Anon tools - I don't have to react to everything, I am able to stay in the moment, I'm just doing the next right thing, I forgive myself for feeling scared and gift treats to calm my jangled nerves, no space for self-pity, in fact I am feeling very lucky indeed... all tools picked up here in Al Anon. I am also very grateful that my husband is not drinking and that we've been able to support each other. I am grateful to have arrived at a point where I am able to say that about us as well!
I too have held you and all in Italy in my prayers. I only have insight into the news and am so glad to hear that you and hubby are OK and dealing! I too am sending positive thoughts your way and hope it all stops soon!
Take care, stay safe and YAY for using the tools!!

I am in Kansas, and there were some earthquakes in Oklahoma (not that close) yesterday. We felt a bit of it ... far, far away. I believe you about living in the moment! Please stay safe!
