The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The C2C reading for November 30 speaks about learning from everyone who enters our lives. It points out that we are all connected and that is our great strength. Each person we meet can be a reflection of our better or worse qualities and there to enable us to work through conflicts that in the past we never resolved. Others can learn from us as well.
Today's reminder states that the one reason I come to Al-Anon is to learn to develop healthy loving relationships with ourselves and others. I recognize that I need this and I will welcome those my higher power brings to me today.
The quote is from the Midrash; "separate reeds are week and easily broken but bound together a strong and hard to tear apart."
This reading is a great reminder to be in the moment and keep an open non judgmental mind each day There are lessons and gifts all around if I can make myself be focused in the moment and wiling to learn.
Good morning Betty and thanks for the daily.....I can't believe November is almost over!
I am grateful for all who were here when I arrived. The common bond in the room helped me to see that recovery is possible and gave me hope, little by little, day by day. True kindness and willingness to accept me in spite of my issues was such a relief and kept me coming back.
I was one who felt embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help. After all, I was a grown woman, I was smart, intelligent, strong - what in the world made me so 'weak' to manage and fix my dysfunctional home? I learned through those who went before me that this disease is super powerful and nobody, not even an army can defeat it. It is an individual battle for all affected, and can't be beaten or fixed, but can be managed.
I like how the quote reminds us that even if we can't win the war against this disease, we are stronger together than alone. I believe it is absolutely all about one day at a time that I am able to find peace and serenity when I choose to.
Have a super Monday everyone!
