Courage to Change 10 -28

Good Morning Family  Today's daily reading will be brief as I am running late.  I stayed up late, watching the Mets blow the first game and now need to catch a train for  my weekly trip to NJ.

The C2C reading for October 28 speaks about our attitudes  and how they can be conveyed to others in what we say and do.  These very subtle  attitudes  come back at us from others.

I know I did what the reading points out, I  smiled at people but underneath I was filled with anger and resentment and they could sense it.  Today, after working the steps and freeing myself from the old negative attitudes I can smile and it converys my joy and happiness.

 The quote is from Ralph Waldo Emerson; "though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not."

Good morning Betty - I hear you on the up late for the game! One game is down, 6 more (hopefully) to go!

I love the quote of the day and it is powerful for how I try to live/be today. I too tried to 'be' and 'show' happiness and perfection before the program. However, I have the worry/frown lines to prove that what I tried to show was not the reality by which others saw me.

I am grateful that I chose recovery and that I was willing to do what was asked of me for the better good of me. I am 100% willing today to be authentic and if I am sad, it's OK. If I am happy, it's OK. This program has given me the freedom to be me, and that in itself has brought peace to me.

I believe that working the steps has given me the power to own my lot in life. I can get up each day and focus on what's wrong or I can focus on the many gifts I've been given. I can sit and stew or I can work this program. I can choose misery or peace. I am one who believes that how we truly feel is written on our foreheads for others to see.

I hope I am not alone, but when I find myself out of sorts, I often look to my HP and ask, "What am I to learn today? What is the lesson for my restlessness?" I seek to gain clarity so I can find my peace again. I choose an attitude of gratitude and recovery even when my life and day is uncertain.

Best to both teams in Game 2 tonight! I'll be watching!!

Happy Wednesday and (((Hugs))) to all!

Perfect reading today, I struggle with these traits all the time, but the key for me now
is that I sense and catch myself and then work at it again. I realize that I do project
my frustrations even though I control myself, I am working to get to the point where
it is second nature that I free myself of my negativity. {{HUGS}}
