I did everything I could to help my A stop drinking but it all has been fruitless. He doesn't even seem to care about quitting anymore. I'm about to give up on him. I just don't know what else to do.
They tell us to let go and let god. And to remember the 3 C's - can't cure, didn't cause it, and can't control it. We do the best we can and we must put the focus on ourselves. There are rewards in focusing on ourselves. Hang in there!
Sounds like a healthy idea, thinking, to me. Take care of yourself first and foremost, and turn your will and life over to your higher power. (St. 3) And turn your A over to his Higher Power. You have tried everything and gotten nowhere, trying to force solutions---now try something different, even if it's just for yourself. You'll feel better. It's about you now. Your health, spiritual well-being, emotional health, and mental health!
