Non-drinking blacouts?

My AH is sober 83 days.

Saturday night he came to bed around 3:30 am (he stays up late all the time)  he was acting weird.  Like he had been drinking.   I got up in the morning and he had cleaned up the kitchen including bagging up two bags of trash to go out.    The next day he said  "thank you for bagging the trash" and I was so confused.  HE HAS NO MEMORY OF BAGGING THE TRASH UP or of coming to our room smoking a cigarette (I have asked him not to smoke in our bedroom)  and of adjusting the bed.

IN addition he was so restless I left the room and went to the couch

He had blackouts when drinking and they have labeled him as having drinking psychosis...

He is not drinking.  He is on Lithium and they just added Lyrica to his drug mix.  (both are new since he stopped drinking)

I have asked him to talk to his psych about this when he sees him on Wednesday...  any input on blacking out after getting sober?

comments questions ESH welcome.

It is not uncommon to have these types of episodes on sleep meds Nessa. That would be my guess. The Lyrica more than the Lithium.

I'm thinking it's the Lyrica too. My first thought was "did he go out and buy booze??" ugh.

I have heard people sleep walk on lunesta(sleep med)
Especially if they drink even casually. One girl was out
In her night gown in the middle of the night in the winter.

Never heard that about lyrica but people do have side
Effects. Do not know anything about lithium.

Scary stuff hope he talks to his doctor weds. I would
Be on edge if that was me.

OK I figured it out... DAMN HIM

He is such an addict... he is so sick.. he is so freaking co-dependent... he so needs to be a double winner.

He has taken to pretending he's Walter White from Breaking Bad. He is making all sorts of pot concoctions on our stove... my kitchen looks like a freaking science experiment... He is on the web looking for new ways to make pods and dabs and stuff... his argument is that I use it for medical reasons (and I do and it's legally allowed for medical purposes where we live)

ONE of the concoctions requires evaporation with heat and air and ALCOHOL... (NOT drinking alcohol) and we talked about this before he ordered the stuff and I expressed my concern but he's an adult...

Seems the night the blackout happened he was SMELLING the concoction and he SMELLED the alcohol and it smelled nice to him and he KEPT INHALING the alcohol scent... NOT even drinking it...

Hence the drunken behavior and the blackout.

Scared him... he went to a meeting last night (he said "pick even or odd" and i had no clue why... i said EVEN and that picked which meeting he went to... seems it was the meeting he prefers... thank you HP for letting him go....

I looked it up. IT's NOT good. I have sent him the links. we talked about it a bit t his morning. He will NOT do it again... he had NO clue how it could affect him and make him drunk.... or that it was an alternative to drinking... OY... neither did I. It was very unintentional.

deep sigh.

When my wife first got out of rehab she discovered all kinds of things have alcohol in them. Nyquil is a biggie. Her hairspray she discorded gave her q nice rush, looked at the label, yep, alcohol. Its great that it panicked him, same with her, she got rid of all of it right then.

Panicked him enough that he went to TWO meetings yesterday.
