The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
Sometimes it actually helps me to view myself as the star of my own reality show. It may sound conceited but it helps in some ways if I think:
1. This is my show so I better make it interesting.
2. Each day is a new episode and the plot can change and get better each week.
3. I'm the star and producer so I can kick people off the show if I want and need to.
4. People watching would be rooting for me, so I might as well root for me too.
5. This show needs to have meaning and purpose to be enjoyable. That is up to me more than anyone.
6. If someone else wants to steal the show...they better bring it and get their own spinoff because I need to stay the star of my own show.
7. The best shows have comedy, action, some sadness but not unnecessary drama. It's understandable to have those things.
8. It's a reality show. It's not scripted and the show will suck if I try to plan everything. I just need to be my true self to make the best show.
9. There was a time where the show was either a tragedy or I didnt even bother to show up for the taping. Now it's mostly upbeat and I have to show up all the time if I want the show to be successful.
10. Not everyone needs to like the show or approve of it. They can choose not to be on it or not to watch it. It is still my show.
So...if your show feels like one you don't want to be in...it may be time for a character change.
And furthermore, I spent far too long as "recurrent appearing" characters in OTHER people's shows. I don't want to do that now and I don't really have time. I have my own show now amd it is far more rewarding to star in it rather than to be the constant supporting cast member to someone else's show which sucks most of the time anyhow.

I have to think about this. Would I expect people to like me, would I like myself if I was watching me from outside? Why/ why not? That's an interesting one. Cheers
