A definition of acceptance

I was listening to a speaker on a tape AA or Al Anon-- I cannot recall which) who said that every time she has trouble accepting something it is because she is longing for a choice that isn't available. This really resonated with me!

Hmm, that is interesting isn't it, I will have to remember it. For me, sometimes it Courage to Change my attitude, which is wanting something that it won't accept that it can't change. It always gets complicated. What you said is a pretty simple way of looking at it. Simple is good. At least for me.

I love the old timers and their willingness to share their lessons which continue to help those who haven't arrived yet.  Keep the old timers alive in your programs.   ((((hugs)))) smile

Oh I love those old timers, too. If you haven't heard Arbutus or Mary Pearl, check out their speaker tapes. I've learned so much from them.

Acceptance is key and every time my brain and emotions can't come to terms with something I say the acceptance prayer from AA. This was a very thoughtful way to look at it because it's so true! Thank you for sharing!
