ego

I was at a great meeting today and i heard e.g.o can be called edging god out. Its a good way to think about it. Whenever i think ive got it sorted and  i know it all then im not in contact with my higher power.

Thanks LC that is really a great way for me to look at the word EGO. If I Ease God Out, that means that I put my own SELf in the drivers seat, look to push my agenda and forget all about the common good and what is good for the whole.

Good topic.

I heard that at one of my first meetings and had forgotten it until now. The part I think is actually most important on this is the *easing*. Thats the part where sometimes you step back and realize you've just inconspicuously pushed HP out.

I love the slogans too, somehow they stick well with me. They sound corny from the outside but make it so easy to remember important concepts.

My sponsor taught me "if you are not liking the consequences of your behaviors...do the opposite".  E G O...Easing God Out was one of my behaviors back then and the opposite of that became O G E...or Offering God Entry.  In  further inventories I discovered that EGO was the tap root defect of all of my problems...very very shy about attempting that anymore.   Thanks ElCee and MIP family (((((hugs)))))  smile
