I am thankful I have the next three days off! Hopefully we dont lose
Power, i have a automatic generator. But i still get nervous during big
Storms when i am alone to deal it. My ah is not too far away he will come
To clear his part of the property. I do not know yet how to run snowblower.
Maybe this storm will be good practice for me to learn. Snow removal was
Not in my job description. It kills my back, but i have been shoveling this
Year. I go out often so it doesnt get too heavy for me.
Thanks Catherine and Neshema I am safe and sound in my apartment with tons of soup, ice cream and heat. It is terrible out there so I will miss my favorite meeting tonight but that is a small price to pay for being safe.
We got hit with this same kind of stuff last winter. I don't envy you this, but I am glad you have a generator, Mirandac, and that you have plenty of ice cream, Betty! It's so much easier to live through this storms with heat and a treat. Thanks for checking in and letting us know how it goes there.

Oh thats good, being off....no driving in that stuff.....and yea, shoveling isn't fun, but if ya go out often (remembering when I was in cold country) it isn't so bad...be careful....bend at the knees, lift up via knees when shoveling......glad u r ok

Thank you! I am in house with 3 kids and a cat--all of us are stunningly already showing signs of stir-craziness, except for the cat who is smug and bored as ever.
I am fortunate to have wonderful neighbors around and made a trip to the store so we are as prepared as can be. I am enjoying electricity for the time being--will hopefully be able to check in in the morning.
Well, good, Mary! The cat is happy. I do hope you can keep your power. Our utility workers are on the road on their way to the east coast, so...the troops are comin'. I'm glad you have good neighbors, food and your serenity prayer to recite with the kids when stir-crazy turns into really crazy - or maybe its good just to Serenity Pray it up before the real crazy starts? Grin. Glad you're warm still.
They don't live on the west coast, Bud. Maybe Pink will weigh in and tell us all how to get there. They'll just love us all cramming in with them. We could bring our own bedding and pets' food.
I don't think we have any members on here from California? Cathy? Andromeda? Can the frozen people stay with you if they can't stay with Pink and Chuck?
Newlife girls is in California I think. And yeah it was 58 this morning and I fwlt like I was freezing. I am in Southeast Florida. I do not miss winter any more.

So??????????????? Can we all come with our pets? It was 1 below this morning. I'll take 58. I'll bet the people on the east coast wouldn't mind 58 either.
Of course, if we can't go there - Newlife girl? What about there? I forgot you were in California.
And its 90 in New Zealand. David????

Stay in and safe MIP family! I am from California born and raised, but moved to northeast Wisconsin 15 years ago and can't explain why?! Especially this time of year! Sending you all love and support!

LOL! I can certainly understand your wonderin' why you moved from CA to Wisconsin. At least in Wisconsin, you might get snowed in, but you won't float into the ocean? Any 20 below there like we had last year, BF? It looks like our winter of 2015 will hopefully be nothing like that horrible winter we had last year here.
It has been really cold, 40 below last week a couple days, my poor boyfriend is a plumber working outside doing ground work to build new duplexes, but not a ton of snow like last year, but it's early in the season yet!

San Diego here! Come on over- we're just having a bit of rain, nothing compared to you folks on the East Coast.
Green Eyes! I was hoping if I kept offering other people's homes as a place for us all to go, somebody would step up and offer their home for a gathering space! Thank you! Did you hear all????? Green Eyes says we can go to her place in San Diego!!!!!!!! This is great, GE! Grin.
(PS. I'm conveniently ignoring the invitation to the E Coast gang. I live midway between the E Coast and the W Coast kinda. And others of us don't live on the E Coast either, so hopefully, it won't matter to you once we all get there for our first MIP Al-Anon convention during the winter season?)

In NYC it is still cold and windy, but snow stopped and they are now clearning the roads completely. Looks as if the storm was not as bad as expected. YAY
Good. I've been watching CBS and GMA and according to people standing in the biting wind by highways (you couldn't pay me any sum to do that), the sky is falling. I'm glad you are actually experiencing a different reality and are safe and warm.

Mass Transit is still shut down but I am safe and warm. I only intend to walk out locally today and will not do my usual tripss to the Bronx or NJ . :)
