Frustrated, sick(stupid cold), working on financials

So, I am trying to figure out what I'd like to see happen with the divorce and I want to present it to AH and make it very clear.  I need to call our tax accountant and see if he can offer any insight because a lot of what I have to balance out on paper has to do with capital gains taxes, retirement monies and penalties, etc.  I want to be fair to AH but I also need to look out for me and our son.  I have a meeting with my lawyer on the 22nd but I'm hoping that if I can get AH to agree to be amicable, maybe we can save some money and use a mediator instead?  I think he's finally at a point where he wants out just as badly as I do.

My cold is moving into my chest today.....and this is getting on my nerves because my ears are clogged, my head feels like it weights 20 pounds, and I need that dang head to think clearly, LOL.  One of the reasons that I want to know what AH will agree to soon is because I want to know how to start preparing for the next step: should I start looking for used furniture and a new bedroom set for our son?  Should I start selling/donating some of the clutter in my house so that we can pare things down, etc?  I feel like we're at a standstill, both trying to comprehend and work out our own plans, so to speak.

All in all, I feel good about the changes that will be coming.  I know this needed to happen a long time ago. Even my son said, "Mom, I expected this like a year ago.  I kept thinking, what's taking mom so long to do something about this?"  He knew and I knew he knew but for whatever reason, I held off on making that break.

Trying to let HPs will be done here and working on being patient today.....oh crap, gotta go sneeze AGAIN and it's the type of sneeze that hurts the chest, LOL.  Guess today is a rest day for me....

Listening, Andromeda, and glad to see that you have decided that today is a rest day for you. First things first comes to mind as I read your post.  You sound like a pretty sick little puppy today with the infection that is announcing its ongoing presence in yucky ways for you. Lots of prayers and warm support being sent your way. I love that your son can be open and honest with you. What a blessing that must be for you?

Aww, thanks Grateful! It really was a blessing. Such an understanding young man. He went on to talk about how he loved his dad but made mention to how uncomfortable living with his father was becoming. He always has a way of bringing tears to my eyes because there is nothing false about him. He's very fair, very matter of fact, etc.

I just taught him how to make a stir fry for himself. He'll need some serious cooking skills when he's at dads house in the future, LOL. But, I'll be resting this afternoon!

(((Bonnie))) Unfortunately, I do have to don a face mask while hugging you but the warmth is still there in the heart and in the arms.

feel better soon!!! Some assets in some states and in different countries are exempt from penalties in divorce cases, but the exchange may have restrictions- such as a roll over or one time transfer in a certain manner.

Whenever you begin to doubt the choices you have and are making, look at your fine son and remember his words and his wisdom.  Feel better soon....

Bonny

I'm still sick and I have to get to a doctor soon. It can interfere with everything you do.. I hope you also get better soon. Be sick SUCKS

My OS and me did his divorce ourselves because him and his wife were able to figure out everything without intervention. Only 175.00 and some leg work, serving 25.00, court date DONE. It was cool and he was divorced in 3 months. But of course they didn't have any children involved.

Hopefully you can save some money by taking part of the furniture with you....at least enough to get you and your son started.

((( hugs )))
