This n that.

Well Michael Douglas was evicted after 1 day, he didn't get along with the other feline resident. Apparently it was the OTHER cat that was the aggressor which surprises me as MD is pretty feisty. So yesterday A and I left him at the vet in town and today I went and picked him up and brought him back here. My new landlady says she's well and truly had enough of cat-lady and her years of nonsense and that if she tries to bully anyone under this roof she'll go to the police and put an end to it. So of course I can't just let her fight my battles for me but it is a HUGE relief to know that she will back me up as she's lived here for many years and is known and respected so, in her words "just let her TRY to convince anyone I am the one harrassing her, they won't believe a word of it". So knowing I have someone in my corner is great, I don't have to be too afraid to have a cat anymore just because of a crazy-lady and her awful lies and hysterics. If she sees MD and starts any of her nonsense I have an ally and wont feel as though since I am more or less unknown in the community except for cat-ladies lies, she might make life awful or lie to the police and say I have threatened her etc again.

My new landlady is completely crazy LOL every time her goats bleat she bleats right back at them and she laughs and laughs and laughs all day, just like me, completely crazy lol I feel so at home. We've already started playing around with different kinds of water purification etc and talking about making a business making this herbal remedy and that, who knows what the future will bring but they are nice ideas and perhaps will come to fruition, who knows?  So far, so good. She also stuck up a whiteboard for us to write our gratitudes on each day, its a nice touch. This is such a nice place for me to be in while I get used to a new A-free life.

Originally she was going to go with me to pick up MD because the vet is in a busy part of the city and I've never driven that far before alone, but she was asleep when it was time to go so I went out to the car and decided to be brave and go by myself, so as soon as I got in a hailstorm complete with thunder and howling wind started and the address magically wasn't in my GPS, once this would have been enough to make me call the vet and say I couldn't make it and could the cat board for the night but I pulled myself together and said "HP you know what? I need you to HELP me do this, not throw a zillion obstacles in my path, I'm trying to be BRAVE here!" so lo and behold the hail and rain stopped and the sun came out and the traffic was extremely accommodating too.  I was almost dancing with joy by the time I got home, it must sound so silly but I have only ventured out of my little town a few times so far, and it feels like a huge accomplishment when I do.

Today is the first day that I have not spoken to A at all, the house is finally all finished up, the agent says it looked good when she inspected it and the deposit will be refunded although she wants me to go back and dust and re-mop the floors next week, whatever, they always ask you to go back and do SOMETHING, although I dusted and mopped that place like cray before I left. Anyway I feel good, little twinges of loneliness occasionally but they will pass.

All in all, I'm travelling well and things are going my way which is nice. My room is still a mountain of boxes but it's getting more and more organised and I'm finding myself more energetic than usual so I'm getting lots done and feeling good about it.

Anyway that's me today, all in all going well, yay!!

Thanks for reading.

(((everyone)))

Yay indeed!!! I am so pleased that Michael Douglas is back with you as well and laughing at the goat conversations - no doubt you will be fluent in goat in no time!

I was reminded of Michael Douglas the other day. I took my dog for a walk up the mountain and our cat came too, which meant that the walk was shorter than I had planned. So I decided to just sit and enjoy the view for a while. After dog and cat frolicked and chased noises in the the field they came and sat with me - dog by my feet and cat, for the first time in his life, climbed up my back and sat on my head, giving me paws for eyebrows! It felt great, and I kept chuckling as I imagined what we all looked like - sitting in the middle of nowhere like that! So thank you Michael Douglas and Melly.

Great story about the storm. My concern is what if MD pees in the house? Won't the owner get upset? Is he fixed? Can't remember if I heard back from you about that. I had a male cat who stopped marking his territory once he got neutered.

That's what he was at the vet for.

You have to tell him when he's still feeling it from the procedure "This is what happens when you pee on my things!" Then he will stop.

Just kidding.

Funny PC. I swear it makes them stop peeing everywhere. Can't wait to hear if he stops. :)

Hard to say.
He never peed on things until we were forced to lock him up all the time. It seemed to be some kind of retaliation. So to begin with he was the perfect kitty who always used the litter and then when I was forced to lock him indoors he turned into little Mr bed-pee-er.
When he is allowed outside during the day he stops the peeing behaviour even if he is locked in overnight; he makes a big show of using the kitty litter and chooses times when I am in the room to use it, he's quite clever really. As if he is saying see, when I'm a happy kitty I don't pee on your stuff. Then when he is again locked up he goes back to peeing on everything and giving me dirty looks.
So I really have no idea how this will play out.

When I collected him from the vet, he said "you won't believe this but your cat got out of a locked room earlier and came walking out into the office, we can't figure out how he did it". EXACTLY, MD is Houdini reincarnated. The vet also said "you should try to keep him inside for a day at least although I can't imagine he would stand for being kept indoors for long". Nope. Not his thing at all.

Anyway he's safe and well, we'll figure out the rest as we come to it. Maybe I'll build him a playpark or something, there is space enough for it. I think I've had about enough of stressing about having pets constantly, I must be manifesting the problems somehow. I see my mother constantly having issues with her pets and telling me how stressful it is and I think "Oh you create the problems so you have something to worry about, it's obvious" so maybe I'm doing that and I just don't see it. So I'm trying to just let it go, take the appropriate measures and not sit around wailing and wringing my hands about pet issues.

It has been windy and stormy today and tonight I can hear the waves crashing onto the shore, I LOVE when they are so loud I can hear them at night. Definitely going on my gratitude list for today.

I understand busy pets and pet problems. I've always had a dog that would escape...up until about 5 years ago or so. I have my Chihuahua now and he is really easy. For that I am grateful. My AH got a German Shepard that I never wanted when my other dog died. She is hyper and he doesn't take her for walks enough. She used to pee all over the house when she was a puppy. It wasn't fun. I know for sure I don't ever want another puppy. I adopted my Chi when he was older and trained already. I don't miss the Shepard much. She is a good dog now, but still very hyper. That's what happens when we separate from the A....sometimes animals are caught in the aftermath. I used to walk the Shepard all the time. Ugh.
