Hi Gang

Well how is everyone doing?   I haven't been on a whole lot but I guess it's because I  need a break or just don't have the ESH in me.

My SO has decided to retire and will take over the complete care of the home, cars, shopping, laundry, yard and repairs.  So far so good but he needs a little training in some areas.  I don't think it's a good idea only because he will not get his full retirement and if we should separate we might be in a whole lot of financial trouble trying to make it out there.  But that's his choice....  I would never let anyone take care of me so I will be working for the next 3 1/2 years.

My son.....he is doing so good and has come to so many revaluations about his life and thanks the Department of Corrections for his progress.  He's in learning mode big time....learning mostly about himself and his responsibility to himself and the world around him.  I just visit and listen to him and am amazed with his thoughts and admissions to himself and to me.  He is using the system to the best of his ability to get somewhere when he gets out so he can get a job, a place to live and continue his education on his disease. ( by the way he says it's not a disease.....that's a cop out for his weakness and not being able to cope with his addiction ).

He gave me his 8 steps to recovery and you know what....most are the same as in AA but without the HP in it.   Whatever he does or thinks I don't care I just want my son back and I pray I do get him back someday.

So I get my car back from the accident and the front end is all new and pretty.  Second day driving to work I hear a thud under my car so I thought something had hit the underbelly.  Well I get home, walk around the front of the car and low and behold my grill is all smashed in.  I put my hand in it and pull out a 8 inch piece of metal rim from a car.  I just couldn't believe it.  I want to just try and glue it back together for now because this little mishap will be on my dine......I can't report it to the insurance company again....geez.

My leg is healing really good but Friday the 17th I will be going into surgery for my foot.  They are going to take out the nerves so I will be relieved of pain and can wear shoes again.   I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am for a 7:30 operation.  Why so early!!!  but will be home by 10 and sleeping like a baby I hope.  They told me I will be wearing a brand new boot for a few weeks.  Lovely.

All is good and I will continue to get all my medical needs taken care of while I have good insurance.  Next on the list is my teeth.   Not liking this one but it's got to be done.

((( hugs to everyone )))   and HI HI HI

We are having some great weather now and the church you see ahead on the right ( Steeple )  is where I go for my Al-anon meetings.  I live up behind the first set of hills on the right of the pic.

LOL! I had to laugh at elcee's first sentence.

Now on to you. I'm glad to hear that your son is making the most of his time there. Two 1/2 years will help him dry out and integrate some of what he's learning. And isn't a joy to have these visits with him with his brain working better?

I'm also glad that your SO is relieving you of the work you were doing. I understand you don't agree with his decision for an early retirement and given his health as you've described it, may be the best option for him right now?

I'm glad your leg is healing although I'm sorry you need surgery to stop the pain in your foot. Fortunately, the procedure will help you get some relief and maybe this will mean better sleep for you post post-op?

Dentistry - yuck - and yet you are going for the care you need that might also be preventing worse dentistry?

It looks like you have a long drive to your meeting or is that just an optical illusion? Unlike elcee, I'm not jealous since our skies have been fairly blue with intermittent sunshine and changing leaves, too, but I'm happy to see the church you go to and the hills where you live. (Of course, now I feel a song coming on: I gooooooooooooooooo to the hills with the sound of muuuuuuusiiiiiiiiccc. Hmmmm, hmmmmm, hmmm, hmmm, mmm, la de dah, de dahhhhhhhhhh. The hills are aliiiiiiive with the sound of muuuuuusic and I'll sing onnnncccccce mooorrrrre.)
