Hi Sean
I do agree this is a beautiful thought and it lead me to ponder the question: How do I get beautiful roses in my heart? so I can populate my garden.

The answer I came up with was that I needed to work this program, each day, using the serenity prayer, and the Just for Today Bookmark and work Step 4 through 10 yearly in order to remove the weeds of anger, resentment, self pity and irrational fear.
I have then fertilized my soil in order for the garden to flourish

I too love this quote and thank you for it! For me it meant to make yourself beautiful within, cleaning out the dysfunction and things within that are not beautiful and not helpful. I found that through working the steps, my face to face al-anon meetings, and here at MIP I learned how to clean house within and instead of to look at others I wanted to be like someday, I became the person I always wanted to be. Not sure if this was what was meant, just my two cents worth if that. Sending you love and support on your journey!
