Pals 'n' Gals...

smile Was a time i called Alanon 'laughter and tears'. I have had a good measure of both.

My home town group folded, as did the one up the road. Even our assembly looked a bit rocky... but now it might be starting to even up.

Went to three meetings in South Dakota. Alanon is really strong up there. The meetings are rich and vibrant... so i got in as much time as possible. I had to juggle this with family time... this was valuable too... smile

While we were in the USA A...'s mum passed away here in NZ. Half the whanau is in the US... so we began the grieving, and the slow walk back, from there...

two of the sisters had a contingency plan- to put grandma in cold storage and take the time needed to do her proud- and that is what happened. There will be a service held in the town she lived in and then she will be flown down for a burial with her ex. something she and the family wanted.

A few plots along is my step-father's first wife... and he plans to be buried there too, some day...

It just happens that the burial is on at the same time as our next assembly, and in the same town...

...I a treasurer and will be passing that on... so it is all about one day at a time- furnish my brief report... and then drop back in about lunch for a quick ten mins and sign anything that needs signing.

Recovery on the run... y'know i used to plan and picture everything... well in advance.... Also i was mute for years and didn't get to talk about anything at all. I was a nobody, nowhere at all.

Our time together helps define us... we find this out, and work this out... sometimes it is hard, and clumsy... but we keep coming back... it does get better... spread around the burden does get a lot lighter... and some of it even evaporates... !!!

...thanks so much for the share... aww

David.

It was shares like this that helped me get over the thoughts of "I don't like this lot and don't want to be here" when I first arrived.  "....Family Groups"  Family and like you say whanau which supports each other and fills in the holes and kuleana when one leaves temporarily or permanently.    Bless your share David because it also applies to and supports my little niche in my nation and its strive for sovereign freedom.  It also applies to my service and support (like yours and others) in our program of recovery.  Ho `omaika`I to your whanau brother.  You loose the kinolau the body and keep the spirit of her forever.  She is now bigger than life.  Share the gratitudes for her earthly visit. ((((Hugs)))) smile
