Doing hospice for my sponsor

As some of you know I have done 12 years of home hospice private care and now I am glad to get to spend the time with my very own sponsor. She is an amazing lady and was released to go home and finish out her life on her terms. Her husband asked me to be a part of the care team and I am honored. She helped me through the steps and listened to me slip and slide through my first few years of program with love and patience. Now I can pay back just a little and give her quality care at the end of her life here on earth. She has touched so many and lived such an amazing journey, it inspires many including me!

I now have my almost 6 year old back and the timing is somewhat tricky, but I am figuring it out and making it work. When I hand things to God these things flow more naturally better than all the control and forcing I used to waste energy on. So this is my update for now and I am just so glad I have the Summer off of school to be able to do this and so much more with my kids. Sending you all love and support on your journeys!!!

I can imagine that will be a powerful experience, the close connection you have with your sponsor must make it lovely for both of you. She must be really proud of you and herself. I think that must be a really good way to go for an Alanon person.
I enjoyed reading about letting your higher power deal with your life it flows better. I find that too, Im not great at giving it away though and if I do, I usually take it back. Enjoy your summer holidays with your family BF.x

Oh, that is so awesome, BF!! I can't say enough good things about hospice programs, they truly are a life support system even in the face of death. Thanks for sharing that with us today!!

I so enjoy reading that you see this to be an honor to be part of her care team. What a peaceful and loving presence you will be to and for her.
I'm also happy to read that your daughter will be back with you soon. Gosh, the time seems to have gone so quickly since the first post I remember about the change for you and for her. I can feel the warmth in your heart through your words. I also like seeing where you see your part and can hand the rest over to your HP. Blessings on you, your family and your sponsor. I know that as a person dies to this mortal life, they only have energy for some people to be with them. It makes me smile to see that you are one of her chosen people to be with her at this very special time.

Thank you all for the love and support here, it is an emotional time, but I am trying to pour out love and attention on my little one now that she is back and I leave today to spend a few days with my al-anon sponsor. Keep sending prayers, love and support for her and her wonderful husband who is an AA sponsor to many and a great man.

You are so precious. It takes a special strong self assured person to do hospice. Its not easy to separate your feelings from staying strong for them.

Look at all you have accomplished! love!!! sorry I missed this share, but I am too stubborn or something and cannot quite get what makes this system better on here! lol
