I finally made a decision a few nights ago. I had long conversation with my HP and decided to file for divorce. My soon to be ex ah was all talk abt divorce. He told me he was filing but he actually never did. I have a few weeks before my big move and when I leave I want to be able to leave and be free from him. Slowly I have gotten better, slowly I have taken steps to get healthy, slowly I have detached from him, it seems I did everything slowly...lolll But all those little steps brought me to where I am now. Today I am in recovery and becoming a different person, a person I myself am discovering. I'm discovering who I am, I am learning abt my likes and dislikes. It may seem weird but I lived with my AH for 18 years and my world revolved around him and now it revolves around me and my recovery. I'm so grateful for the program. My small changes have brought me so much progress in my life. I am not perfect but I am making progress in this thing called life :)

You sound so strong and confident in your path of recovery! As we work the steps and our own recoveries, I see so many people who finally 'see' themselves for the first time, including myself. Learning about your likes and dislikes, who you really are as a person, and who you want to become in the future. Sending you lots of support as you venture into this new territory and encouraging you to stay strong and keep on that recovery path!
