Grateful to be here

Been avidly reading here for a while and just joined so I can start sharing.  So much here I relate to.  Thank you everyone for being here.

A little about myself. I am an A, with about three years sober time under my belt.  My hub remains an active A.  We were 'drinking buddies' for several years until I quit.   My parents were both A's.  Dad active A till he passed, Mum dry drunk from when I was little. I attended 3d Al-anon meetings for about 18 months, also ACOA.  I am no longer able to attend in 3d so was very thankful to come across this site. I have a sponsor I am in contact with daily.

I love and live Al-anon.  I have built myself a life.  With boundaries, honouring my feeling.  I had all my focus on my AH, now I keep it on myself.  Working my recovery.

Glad to be here. Sunshine Girl

Great to have you here! Congratulations on turning things around for yourself. It is wonderful to experience to learn through Al-anon I think.

Welcome! As you know each day is a gift! I am so glad for your recovery and especially your recovery program. You are succeeding each day you choose not to use!

It's a hard disease, but I have seen beautiful results from people who work hard on their recovery. (c:

Welcome, please keep coming on the good and bad times, we are here to listen to you vent too!

Many thanks Milkwood, Breakingfree & Debilyn for your warm welcome to this loving place.

Beautiful weather here in the UK today so intend to go out and enjoy myself. Feeling calm and comfortable in my own skin.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Thank you, el-cee.

My user name and picture reflect how I feel now. A couple of years ago I would have needed to pick very gloomy ones as lived in such a dark place.
