Mysterious ways

After my nice little outburst today, I left the house to get the emissions checked on the little car I bought in February. It hadn't passed the initial smog check and for lack of funds I had to get an extension so that I could do the repairs. My extension had expired a few days ago and I'd been so afraid that I'd get cited by the police here.

The first place (and most convenient) I'd visited for the smog check had the most unpleasant, rude, unprofessional owner. He interrupted, rolled his eyes constantly and displayed such disdain that even if he was the best in town I'd rather not give him one cent of my hard-earned wages. I then drove along and happened to notice this shop I'd passed by hundreds of times. I noticed the smog check banner for the first time. The guy on duty didn't seem to see me or acknowledge me as he spoke on his cell phone. I also noticed that his prices seemed pretty high. I was almost going to leave when he stepped into the office from the bay. I noticed that his name tag on his uniform had a bible verse woven into the fabric, one that I hadn't seen displayed before. I don't usually talk about religion and respect different beliefs as I have my own. But for some reason when I saw this man's uniform I felt comfortable. And I've been swindled by many businesses with bible quotes all over their office;) But, I digress...

I explained to the guy(who I learned was also the owner) what had happened with this car and what I had replaced. He told me that if the car failed, that he would diagnose the problem and that the next test would be at a huge discount. Somehow I never seem to find the freebies that everyone else tells me about, lol.

I decided to go through with the test and sat down in the lobby. I began to feel very nervous and short of breath. I didn't want to look at magazines of hunting trophies so I picked up a New Testament bible and just opened it. It opened to this passage which I will attach below. I read it and thought, wow HP sure has a way of getting a message across:) The car passed, my anxiety passed, and I will be taking my bucket of bolts back to that shop to begin the repairs that it needs.

I'm now legal and feel a lot better about things in general:) I just wanted to share that, because I thought it was so funny and great that of all places, I got schooled by HP at the smog shop! When HP wants to get a message across, it doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing, School's in! :D

ps I had to come back and edit to insert the image...

Glad you passed the test and found a shop owner who just happened to have something you needed to see at just the perfect time. I'm glad you're feeling better, too. Maybe the "smog" has lifted? Smile.

RJ...spooooo right on!! and the opposite of fear is...Love and in some groups of people that is also the name of their HP.  Mine has spoken to me about Love being the opposite of fear and the lesson has been true thru practice.  When I love I cannot fear at the same time.  I relearned that on Saturday.  Thanks for the share.   ((((hugs)))) smile

That is a beautiful passage. And it keeps going, the whole chapter is wonderful. I had the first part of verse 8 engraved into my wife's wedding ring: Love never fails.

And it doesn't.

It's amazing what peace you can find when you are ready to accept it. Or when HP gives you the choice - accept peace, or read deer hunting mags!!

Thanks for posting

Kenny

Hugs RJ,

It is funny where the messages hit and how they come.

When I am just in a place of acceptance .. life is so much easier and I get out of my own way!

Thanks for the share .. big HUGS!! S :)
