prayers needed...possible bad news!

There is a chance that my husband has COPD. The results of his first test were positive. No results yet on the 2nd one. Of course the first thing I thought was about me & having to let go of my husband which naturally I do. I am being kind of selfish only thinking of myself for a moment. I guess I feel like I would be lost w/o him. I don't know how exactly COPD effects people but right now he has no symptoms. I just want prayer for a good result. I am kind of anxious at this point but feeling somewhat positive now that it is starting to sink in. God's will is really what I am searching for.

I am thinking maybe I should speak next month w/o my sponsor there. W/ all the stuff that is going on in my life, maybe I need to share the good stuff to balance it out! What do you all think? I know I have mentioned this before. I am praying for the right answers & to know what the next right thing to do is. I feel like the people I know in the program are counting on me. So, I will wait a day or two maybe. I just need to know that I am doing the right thing & not being selfish.

So, I go on w/ life even w/ the bumps & scrapes. I know the scrapes heel & the bumps get less bumpy eventually. I just have to have faith that I can endure.

Kathleen

Kathleen,

You can always speak right here about the good stuff going on in your life. The fact that you are actually able to get on the computer is pretty good right now for you from what I gather. You could make an asset list and share it right here, and/or at your meeting.

I have known a few people with COPD, from what little I know it is an umbrella for various chronic lung diseases/syndromes. My grandma-in-law lived for 40 years with COPD, just had to be careful about Indiana humidity and heat in the summer.

I like your closing sentence. I ill remember that one for myself.

Kenny

Hi Kathleen

I have COPD. I have bronchitis but no emphysema and I don't think I will get it. I can have flare ups once in a while but I have rescue medication just like a asthma patient would have. I'm also on medication everyday for maintenance. If I didn't quit smoking they told me I would be oxygen in 5 years or dead. It can be maintained and you can live a long time as long as you start taking care of your lungs. If he smokes he has to quit and quit now because it will get worse. He can slow down the progression a lot with good care. I experience breathing problems once in a while and I can't climb Mt Everest anymore but I'm doing quite good I must say.

Prayers for him he will get a good outcome.

(((( hugs ))))

My prayers are with you, Dear friend. I know this is scary right now, but as Cathy said, there is a lot that can be done and your hubby is in remarkably good health. Please just lean on us when you have the need. We're here for you.

As far as speaking next month, you do what you need to do. If speaking about the positives would help you, then you go for it! If you don't want to, then just don't. Pray about it. You'll get the answer.
