It was just there

 
I always asked myself what was meant by " A Spiritual Awakening."
I was so curious but nobody in Al-Anon could tell me about it. And 
then one day it happened in my life; my spiritual awakening was there!
 
I don't know where it came from and I don't know how it came. It 
was just there!
 
I felt that everything in my life was right; my past was right and my
present was right. Most important for me was that my feelings were
right-that anything I felt or will ever feel is right, only because they 
 
are my feelings.
 
The other thing was that there is nobody who can tell me what to do or
not to do. I have to decide on my own and rely on myself. I can ask people
for suggestions and look for support, but at the very last, I am the person
 
who decides what's going on in my life and who must take responsibility
for it.
 
From that day on I woke up every morning thinking, "Well, I am responsible"
and I felt so worried about that. I felt overwhelmed by having to choose 
among a million possibilities. Any way I choose, my Higher Power is choosing
 
for and with me. I began asking myself, "What do I want?" and "What is  good
for me?" In contact with my Higher Power my ability to make choices works.
