I have feelings of fear/anxiety today and I have feelings of peace/hope, too. I am going for a stress echo tomorrow as I have been experiencing chest pains, pressure and burning in the heart area. There is a history of heart disease in my family on both sides and my younger sister needed a minor repair to one of her arteries a few years ago. I take very good care of my health (except the cardio exercise piece, yuck). So, I have seen my doctor, will have the test and then take the next best action after I get the results. If the physical heart is good, then I will ask my HP to show me the wisdom in my symptoms and the actions I need to take for my well being. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference....and so it is, amen.
I can relate. Heart disease runs in my family too and I had HBP at an early age. I watched my dad need stents in his early 50's and my brother in his mid 40's and sometimes feel like I'm waiting my turn. I have tried to live a healthier lifestyle than they did but I am very aware of every twinge and pain in that area and the thought terrifies me. I exercise with pilates and yoga regularly but as you mentioned, I need more cardio work. Adding that to the mix tonight by showing up to class 1/2 hour earlier to do the treadmill. Hope to stick to it. I'll be praying for reassuring news. Good thing is most heart issues are fixable if caught before an emergency.

I hope the tests work out for you Paula...! Nice to see you applying the serenity prayer to your health. My doctor says i have the heart of a man half my age- trouble is I seem to be wearing out all the other parts of my body instead...! But the ability to laugh and to have fun I will never lose- because it was hard fought for...
...for us Alanons the pressure to do stuff and to get stuff done is immense... both in our homes and in our personality... taking time out, to share, is an act of grace!
I feel more at ease than I did earlier and I know it is because of all of you. Thank for taking the time out of your busy day to be present with me.
Thats important...staying as calm and grounded as you can be...Easier said then done, but I am glad you feel more at ease....we are here for you and we love you bunches.....I am never to busy for a friend in need...I see from the posts here, that you are loved by a bunch of us.....take care my little buddy

I just prayed for you. I prayed for healing, and for God's peace. I prayed that the doctors have wisdom and treat you well. We all have you covered my dear; ). I want to thank you for always being there for me, then and even now. it really means a lot. Many blessing, healing, and hugs. Don't forget to let us know how it goes.
For a laugh - my husband gets horrible chest pains (usually when we are already in the ER or hospital for a drug related escapade lol) but anyway - He gets chest pains and it is almost alwaysGAS.
So. I guess I could sayI hope you have gas. hahahahah
Sending loving thoughts and prayers your way for a positive outcome to your test. Good self care that you're choosing to go ahead with testing despite being a little fearful. You're worth it! Please keep us posted. ((pp))) TT
