Hi All,

Feeling good today.  The disease has raised its head in my extended family my Cousin 27 is in a really bad place due to drink and drugs trying to take his life etc.

His dad was visiting my parents he is 65 and my mum shared how my partner had been sober for a year and about me attending al anon.  he said he would like to talk with me.  However Hp had me turn up at that very moment.  One thing led to another and my couisn has been to two meetings with my partner, he has used but is at least going to meetings.

I invited his mum to a meeting I am going to take her to two different ones that i know are healthy.  IO have also given her information about a free retareat for families of alcoholic.

I will not loose focus on my own recovery.  I am working step 12 in a healthy way today no longer rescuer loosing self.  I will help support anyone but they have to be resposible for their own journey too!!

So going to do what I can and hand outcome over to Hp.

Hi, Tracy! Thanks for your share! So glad to hear all your good news and most especially that you will not lose focus on your own recovery and part of that includes handing the outcome of any 12 step work into the hands of HP. (((T)))

 WOW.....GOOD recovery work......its ok to "encourage/esh/support" others IF they are striving to help themselves......thats "ok"   we help here on the boards, w/ ESH, but we don't enable, we don't lose ourselves....we detach when its right, etc......so good on you..........saying that they have to be responsible for their own journey sounds really loving and really healthy to me.............GOOD ON YOUsmilesmile
