Another lesson for me

Glad to hear you called the police. I'd say he picked the right woman's car to hit? Could have been a HP'd thing?  If it was another person's car, they might have agreed with him and he'd be off maybe injuring or killing somebody else in his condition.  You may have helped prevent something major.  Hope your car repairs don't cost you a thing.

Today I was in a car accident, minor damage, not my fault, no one was hurt. The other driver literally drove into me as I was fully stopped in parking lot. He got out of the car, and apologized. He was young, obviously high on something, glazed eyes, nervous, talking like a con artist, super polite, but clearly full of crap. He had the same look I've seen so many times before with all the As in my life. He asked, almost begged that we could just keep this between us, swearing he would take responsibility if I would just take his info. He kept saying, "I have insurance". I just went ahead and I called the police, filed a report, and went on my way. I can't be responsible for what happens to this person. I was just sitting there minding my own business. I guess this a good lesson from my HP. I just wish my car didn't have to get damaged in the process.

When I was a teen, my bf and I were driving and someone hit us. The guy begged us not to call the police, promised he would pay for my car to be fixed. I was hesitant but my bf convinced me it was OK, so I agreed
Of course he didn't pay (I think he gave $50 toward the $600 repair, and then declared bankruptsy).

It's just nice to know you are OK.

You can be happy that YOU did the next right thing.

If only more people would respond in such a way, I love seeing recovery work "in all our affairs".  I am glad you are great.
