Was a long weekend w/o incident! No booze to spoil the moments. Spent time w/ sober friends & especially my fav Al anon friend! I am so grateful for my close & special friend she drops everything to do something or spend time w/ me. I love her to death. I can't imagine my life w/o her. Anyhow, back to the weekend: I think I mentioned before that our small town of just over 2400 people have the biggest doggone wonderful PBD--we celebrate the Labor Day weekend in style I think. We had our usual fireworks & a special 100 year celebration of our fair city. So, yesterday we had our annual parade but it was the longest parade I think in history of our town. It was great because even though it was long, it was very memorable. I even videoed it on my cell phone. Talk about footage. I couldn't shut up the whole time I was taping it! I had a blast! So, later in the day, we went to that same wonderful woman's place that I mentioned earlier for a BBQ--the rain didn't even stop us from having a good time. It was only for a little while, we didn't suffer & besides, it wasn't hot! So, the bad news but not too bad, our new/used truck had a mishap but we made it home in one piece! God is greater than anyone could imagine because he got us home & he is definitely our co-pilot!
So, I am glad I got to share good news w/ all of you. Sometimes I feel that there is no good news! At least even my mom is doing better & I really want to see her & miss her more than I thought I would.
By the way, if you were wondering, God is good not just once in awhile, He is good all the time! Sorry if I am starting to preach! I just feel sooooooooooooo good!
Sharing your positive experience, strength, hope is good to hear, Kathleen. So glad to hear that you had a very good time this weekend. It sure makes a difference in me when I take time to be with good friends and just let loose for awhile. Thanks for your personal share which I'll take as a reminder to do that more often.
