I said on my post that I was gonna wait to get back in harness (read, and post) , but I saw sooo many  "need to read/respond to" posts that I could not resist..

First, I would like to say Welcome to the new comers...U came to the right place...

Recovery can be hard..Sad...But nothing worthwhile comes easy....and when U see the progress and growth, it may be the biggest  "AHA!!!"  comes after a bad patch like I was in....

OK...I set limits for me on reading and posting b/c I am doing step work

I like to think of the steps as: 

steps 1 thru 3  are the   "give up" steps

steps 4 thru 6 are the    "own up" steps

steps 7 thru 9 are the    "clean up" steps

steps 10 thru 12 are the  "grow up"  steps

So I guess I am "owning" and "cleaning" sorta side by side but kinda touching on them all.....and on and on an on I go , for life......Through the steps, I finally got a manual on "life 101"...Training I never got as a kid, but oh well, as long as I am alive, it is never too late....

smile Well your break-down of the steps are great...

Keeping it simple they can be said this was as well-

a, 1-3   Please

b, 4-9   Sorry

c, 10-12  Thanks.

I use them first of all to figure out where I am at.

But If I am waiting to share and respond it gives me an idea where others are at- when to pitch in and when to listen carefully.

When I was writing my 4th step I would sometimes distract myself with the computer.

what helped me was turning the darned thing off.

the time I spent with God each day needed to be just Him and me. That was my time with Him. I did whatever I needed to to sit still in focus.

the disease comes in and says, "Go iron. Go do the dishes. Add this to your grocery list. Do anything but spend an uninterrupted hour with your Creator."

its very human.

 Well, ya know?? I kinda knew what I had to do, but talking w/my AA best friend and hunkering down on step 4 w/her kinda going it with me, yea, it was better two working it instead of just me...an  yea, she said the same thing..."KEEP IT SIMPLE" and she added to take it EASY on ME....((((HUGS))) back at ya...saw the post about your son....Nice job, Cathy
