I called my son tonight at our usual time. Haven't talked with him since a few days after his surgery. He was pleasant and watching a pre-season football game. He didn't want to talk with me long. He was happy watching his game. I loved it. I did what I wanted to do. Check in with him. He did what he wanted to do. Talk a few minutes about nothing special and watch his game. No disease in play for either of us that I could discern. These are the moments I cherish.
Stepping onto a brand-new path is difficult, but not more difficult than remaining in a situation, which is not nurturing to the whole woman.- Maya Angelo
That is what I and my wife are doing also...being spectators of the game rather than being the quarterbacks. We sit in the stands, cheer, eat our popcorn, leave the beer alone and guess what? Were never asked to leave our seats to come down to the field to lead the team. Love the picture...Yay!! go spectators!! ((((hugs))))
Thank you, all. I was hoping this share would be an uplifting one for you. You've all been with me during the challenging times. I want you with me through the quiet, peaceful times, too. Together we help each other grow, find courage, share strength and wisdom in ways that alone we could never do. (((All)))

Thanks, Neshema and Giraffe: I feel happy to read your comments this early morning. Outside my picture window, the pink Rose of Sharon still blooms on healthy dark green branches. A gentle fog wraps huge trees in a white morning mist. Grass outside in my neighbor's yard is green and mowed low. And the symbolism of it all plus your feedback this morning makes my world a peaceful place to rest. (((N & G)))
