So sick and tired

I so hope you can find some face to face al-anon meetings and start your own recovery. It changed my life for the better and I have never regretted it! Sending you love and support!

I'm so tired and everyday I think how much longer do I have to suffer? My AH is very abusive emotionally and he is drunk every single day. No one should have to live this way. I have some serious health issues and the stress of him is killing me. Oh how I want out but my income doesn't give me enough to even pay the house and utilities. He doesn't want help. He gor a DUI in Feb and we are dealing with that. He spends so much on drinking and I'm the one that has to cut. I am so tired of having nothing. I'm so discouraged. All my prayers seem to be in vain.

Hello Wings of a Dove,
I do understand your frustration, anger  and sadness.   Please check out the alanon face to face meetings in your community.  The listing of our main number can be found in the white pages.  At face to face meetings I found that I could break the isolation caused by living with  this disease.  I learned  that alcoholism was a progressive disease over which I was powerless.  I was given constructive tools to rebuild my self esteem and support from people  who understood as no one else can.
I urge you to try the program.  We here at Miracles in Progress also have on-line meetings here 2xs a day.  Here is the web site.
There is help and hope

Thank you. I will try to find a face to face mtg. I've never done any al-anon steps or anything. He's on a rampage tonight, knocked over a lamp, threw a doorstopper and hit my picture frame, spilled food all over my kitchen , and threatened to throw computer outside because he can't get it to work. He told me I had 5 min to fix it. Maybe I should just call police. I hope its ok to ask for prayer. I would appreciate it.

Wings...I use to know that feeling myself and the main word is "use to".  As Hotrod suggested get to the face to face meeting and then I'll suggest get to the literature rack especially the daily readers which you can reference for reading support 24/7 and while you keep coming back here also.  (((((Hugs))))) smile

Calling the police in a situation like you'er in is a very very good thought.  There is not justification for violence and he's already doing it.  Call very soon!!  (((((hugs))))) smile

Wings If you are in danger, then calling the police would be in your best interest.

You  will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight

I have lived through the craziness that you are describing and it can get better. If you read the postings on this site, you will see some great examples of that. With each other and our al anon connections we learn a. new way to live with the alcoholics in our lives. There is a book called Getting Them Sober by Toby Rice Drews that was so helpful to me. It's not expensive and there is a lot available to read online. Work on improving your life one step at a time (it's so overwhelming otherwise) and you will be amazed at the difference it can make. Will definitely pray for you both.

I agree with the above post...I have read Getting Them Sober. Actually I read in it just about every day for the first year to reference different situations. I am not sure where it is now, I brought it to a face to face meeting and it has been borrowed ever since to other members that are struggling. It is a great book that really does help. You would gain valuable information from it.  Please stay safe....
