what can I give thanks for today????

I'm gonna try and do this regularly b/c I can get so down sometimes....

so here I go

TODAY, I am thankful that

My kids are ok

My truck is running ok

I earned money today

We got some more rain to ward off this earth drying up

thought I lost my cat outside in this rain, but she was in the house all the time...

I am dry,

well fed,

bills current,

AND its the WEEKEND

I am thankful
for cool weather and beautiful scenery
in the place I am spending my vacation.
For having time to spend my days as I choose (cooking, taking my dog on walks, and reading).
I am thankful for being able to spend a few days in peace and quiet.

Today:

I'm thankful for the couch that supports my weight while I sit, type or ponder
I'm thankful that I am home and that my power has been restored
I'm thankful I can do some laundry now that there is power again
I'm thankful for Rose of Sharon bushes outside my living room window and the hummingbirds who drink of the blooms' nectar
I'm thankful for The Forum, MIP and Al-Anon
I'm thankful for my grandson, guidance and my HP

And as my Sunday progresses:

I'm thankful for my daughter's resting here where she feels safe and loved before she takes the threads of her own life back up again to continue weaving its pattern

I'm thankful for the tiny blue butterfly in my garden and seeing wasps before they sting me

I'm thankful for the air conditioner's whirr

I'm thankful for the slow return of energy

I'm thankful for the posts I read that give me strength and new resolve

I am thankful for the wonderful yoga class I've just been too with a spiritually focused inspiring teacher

I am thankful for the lovely cool bath I had when I came home

and the really nice bread I brought in that made lovely toast

and the jam I made last week that went with the toast

and a cool room to sit in while I'm typing

I am thankful to hear of people like the man from Connecticut featured on CBS Sunday Morning TV show today: He is in his 80s and every Wednesday he sets up a barbering station in the park where he cuts hair, shaves and "pampers" homeless individuals without any expectation of compensation.
