Since I have been living at the court house recently it's been very entertaining to say the least. I love to people watch and then it's funny as you see the same people as far as law enforcement and people who work there, it's an interesting system. It's not always fair and it's not always just, .. at least it's better than nothing. I know if I keep going back I can figure out the next right thing to do.
Anyway, that being said .. Omgosh court was REALLY funny, .. I mean it's sad to be there and know that there is such pain going on .. see this is the God of my understanding and that wicked sense of humor .. so when I had gone into the file clerks office there was a gal probably my age sitting there waiting and I said my name and the other gal behind the desk said ok we'll get your file upstairs. This other gal addresses me and says oh are you here for me? Umm .. no I'm here for something different, best of luck to you. I left the clerks office. Well, turns out she was waiting to go upstairs to the same courtroom. So imagine MY confusion after court starts and I hear MY name and another name attached to the case .. so I thought ok .. that is for another person with my name, the same gal .. small world .. lol .. biggest small town ever .. I can live with that .. well the Judge grabs another file and starts saying lets address these two cases together. Ok, ... now I'm REALLY confused .. I do know enough to know that is NOT normal. So I sat for another second as I hear MY name and of course the STBAX's name called, do you know how freaked out I was interrupting a JUDGE!? Ummm NOT how I want him to be remembering me .. ohhh that is the rude lady!! So I take a breath and say Ummm .. excuse me sir .. that's MY case. Well, her name was similar to mine and I have a very common name so it never dawned on me that we didn't have the same name .. it was close just not the same. OMGosh .. we all start laughing. I was called right after her, God love her I was praying for her while her case was up .. domestic violence is not something to minimize in the least. So the Judge starts laughing again and so of course I did, I am a big icebreaker and I'm giving him a hard time are you sure we have the right case? To which he asked are you sure you know who you are? LOL!! Ok double check we are good to go.
I was so grateful for that levity in the situation because everyone needed it. No one wants to be there, no one wants to be playing out their drama in front of strangers, no one wants to be unsure and what's the next step. There are actually very few cases that are represented by legal atty's. I was REALLY glad because at least now I'm not the rude lady who interrupted .. LOL!! That is SOOO the God of my understanding and when I talk about a wicked sense of humor and a wicked wit THAT'S the kind of stuff I'm talking about and ALL.THE.TIME. .. and all I can think in that moment is SERIOUSLY YOU think this is FUNNY!? I'm so not ready for this to be THAT funny!! It's usually enough of a distraction for me to put my best foot forward, take a breath and go ok .. this is going to be ok.

That is a very good learning lesson; watching humans being human and being one also at the same time. Easy does it is one of our better slogans Pushka. It seems you were working that today. I use to stay really focused during my "court" life period that after some time in and out and in and out some of the people there use to think I was a lawyer. Lol jerry, you know it's bad when you walk through the doors and comments like back again? I'm such s smart ass that my response is well they keep calling and asking me for my advice. I have to keep coming back until they get it right lol! The worst was the day before my trip to court was last min and completely unplanned. I'm getting dressed in the dark literally grab jeans and a t shirt. I have some saying shirts I sleep in. I had literally not planned on going to the court house. Thou have to be wanned and checked. After going through more than once, I'm getting teased about my shirt. I realize at that punt what it says .. uh ... I love my boyfriend .. I bought the shirt for 1.99$ as a joke. I start laughing and say look I got dressed in the dark I'm just happy everything is on and nothing is backwards or inside our!!! Thankfully I didn't see the judge that day. I learned my lesson even if I'm up at 4am not planning to hit the court make sure I look what I have on!!! I do say as well looking forward to not coming back!!! It may be sooner than later!!! Yeah, court drama can be very interesting. So glad you got a chance to laugh at something. Hey, judges are people too, and they can find humor in situations just as much as the average person there can. Hugs!
