problems with family

I have been a member for more than 20 yeas.  I have a 37 year old high functioning disabled son who also has a dealing conviction.  He has not been able to find a job once he was laid off two years ago.  He moved back home 9 months ago.  We live in the country with no public transportation.  He is becoming despondent as each day passes.  I am at the end of my rope with this.  I'm just frustrated.

If your disabled son receives assistance, can he find an apartment in an urban area that he can rent for 30% of his income?

Thanks for responding "grateful2be",
He is a high functioning disabled person so he Does Not receive any assistance. He also has a daughter that lives in the area, so he does not want to be further away from her.

He has a dealing conviction. Does he have an addiction, too? If so, is he in AA or NA? Are you in Alanon?
If he can't get to meetings, he can access the MIP board for AA or NA meetings and chats. If you're too far out to attend meetings, we have on-line meetings and chat rooms, too. And even if you can attend meetings, you can still do it on-line with us. I am the mother of a son with both an alcohol and drug problem and prison record, too. Unless he gets involved in AA or NA in earnest, no job in the world will help him for long and he'll never be able to live in a place for long. I won't let him live with me. Tried it. Didn't work. He's also 37 - almost 38. I learned to see him as an adult with a HP who would provide for him what he needed. The more I "helped," the less he helped himself. I understand being at the end of your rope.
