Today AH and I celebrate 21 years of marriage. I never imagined that our relationship would be where it is today, but despite all the craziness of recent months, I am happy today. He is actively working his recovery, I'm staying on my side of the street, working on my own recovery. I truly wish I had found Al-anon many many years ago, but I also know there is no sense in thinking about "what ifs". He gave me a very nice card, and a pretty bracelet, a very thoughtful gift - such a nice moment of happiness. I am trying not to look to far into the future, I can't control it anyways, so I'm just living in the moment today.
I'm grateful that I can even think this way today. It was an impossible just a few months ago.
What the power of our HP and Al-anon can do for all of us. I'm happy this anniversary day is a good one. I pray for you that you will have many more to come.
