My husband's best friend (pretty much brother) committed suicide late Wednesday night. He was a Directional Oil Driller, and he was out on a rig in North Dakota when it happened. Most of his friends and family live here in Mississippi. He has a wife and 2 small children here. We are all still just so shocked right now. Understandably, everyone is taking it very hard, along with my husband. I haven't seem him cry so much before. If you are the praying type, would you please pray for this family and the friends? I just still can't believe this is happening.
I've had 4 very close friends lose the battle to suicide/mental illness in my life. It's a very difficult thing for the survivors, all these questions unanswered, worried what MORE you could have done. This is a good time to practice peace, acceptance, and detachment as much as possible. Might sound harsh, but these are questions that will never be answered. I still struggle to this day with these losses, but knowing that nothing I could have done would have made it better helps to hold my heart together.
Hold your husband, hold the family members...just hold them. GL
What was his friends first name Lay? I like to be specific when I knock on my HP's door; not that he minds and because there are so many needing prayers. I just don't want to say "that guy". If you want to keep him anonymous...PM it to me. Mahalo (((hugs)))
