The other day Canadian guy posted about the wife making her AH eggs for breakfast. Today my AH hasn't drank in 2 days and the weekend is approaching. Tonight we have tball and we are helping his parents after the game. I sent him a quick text saying I would ask his parents to watch our daughter so I can go to my Saturday morning meeting and he can go with the boys to a paintball party and also his mom said she would get pizza tonight. His reply back was..not sure I want to play paintball and anyway he wanted tuna. So in my quick old habit ways I text back...don't worry about it, I will make you tuna and you don't have to play paintball if you don't want too. the next text back was...don't worry about it. Just like the story I read...they really just can't be happy and in no way shape or form will I let his self pity become a reflection of me being a bad wife...now help! do I make the tuna? JUST KIDDING!!!!!! Love you all, and have a great day!

I love your humor and yes the people pleasing, walking on egghsells, trying to plan the day without them drinking is all no fun when we feel like we continually over sacrifice ourselves. I really like the slogan give from your overflow not you reserve tank. I really like that being in the EMS field I know that in an emergency I must first put on my oxygen mask so I don't pass out then put on other peoples. In everyday life it wasn't natural to think of myself. After al-anon, counseling and my sponsor helping me to learn to meet my needs and yes even some wants, I feel healthy and know when I have it to give and when I need to say no. It is such a process, but I see great growth in your share. Sending you much love and support!

Or.....he can make his own meal! (When I was a kid and raised in a Catholic home, we couldn't eat meat on Friday. My Mom often made tuna pizza.) Good that you can keep your sense of humor. It sounds as if you needed it here.
