prayers needed...my AS 14 year old daughter was admitted to a psychiatric center today for suicial thoughts. her parents split up 1 year ago due to AS progressive drinking. my granddaughter is such a sweet young lady. torn between mom and dad. moved out of her home of 13 years. it is so sad. my heart is bleeding. my son is on his "poor me" kick. he called me tonight to talk and apparently he didn't like what i did or did not say as he hung up on me. i know he is hurting horribly because of the truth. (the psychiatrist said that his drinking was a contributing factor to his daughters state of mind.) i have such a lump in my throat. i want to call him and scream at him to get his sh.. together for the sake of his daughter. and to start thinking about her instead of himself. but i am grateful for this forum because instead of picking up the phone, i can let it out here. thanks everyone......
Oh, I am so sorry Deb. I can't imagine. A friend of mine had this happen to her 15 year old daughter and it was a long year for them, and there were no addiction issues in their family but there were some mental health issues. She will be alright, she is in God's hands and her HP is with her as he is with us, too. Praying for your family tonight, hugs to you especially.
i am so very sorry to hear of this sad unfolding of events. You did well, by not engaging and using a powerful alanon tool by coming here and connecting . You and your family will be in my prayers and remember to include the serenity prayer in your thoughts
(((Deb))) prayers for you hon. Suicidal thoughts are way to promenent in teens today. I have a 15 year old daughter myself, and it is a constant struggle to give her positive affirmations about herself. Her dad and I divorced when she was 5 and even her first 5 years were tumultuous, but the last 10 have been almost harder due to my mom moved in with us and she has Alzheimer's and we are her caregivers. God has proved the strength that we have needed to perserve and your granddaughter's HP will give her strength too.
Love and hugs, Lisa
