I was reading on the AA board, and John posted in answer to a direct question that he had to come up with some of the money to keep the boards up in December.
I realize that many of us live in chronic financial chaos, many of us are in a temporarily dicey place right now, and these of us are doing all we can to pray and participate. And there are some of us who are better off financially and can catch up some of the slack.
And those of us are the ones I hope will send a contribution. Today would be my hope.
God Bless us, everyone.

Since "Sandy", the storm that hit NYC, our little meeting, that had been held in the VA hosptial wihout paying rent for 20 years has had to relocate to a spacw where the rent is over $200.00 a month.
It had been our policy to play down the contributions by menbers saying:" We have expenses give what you can, if you cannot give keep coming back we need you more that your your money"
It was voted to change that announcement slighlyt to state: Our rent has increased considerably due to these temporary quarters please give what you can affotd however we need you more than your money"
Contributions by those who can afford it have increased and the rent paid.
John used to ask for presents for the men in the houses, but I think it is hard for him to let us know when he has a need. Although he did put the notice up in December. And I was "going to" and then I went out of town. I like that "Please give what you can afford however we need you more than your money."
This board has been a lifesaver for me. I visit so many times a day, every day. BTW, you are one of the Wise Ones that I appreciate so much and I don't think I have ever said it to you directly.
