house sold what next?

My childhood home sold recently. Sad but good news! I am part of a 6-way sell. That means me & my 5 siblings are getting money from the selling of our house. Now that my dad & my step-mom have died, the house sold very quickly. I am very grateful that I can have money that I can use for good choices. I think I am going to give myself & my eyes a new vision. I am going to get the eye surgery after the money comes. The last time I got surgery was my breast lift & reduction. I don't know which of the surgeries is more scary but I already went through the other surgery in 2010. I am just grateful that I may never have to wear contacs or glasses again. Has anyone out there had any kind of eye surgery? I think the one I am going to get is like putting permanent contacs in each eye. At least that is what my optometrist is suggesting--I have been seeing him for about 10 years. And, besides I have had macular degeneration for a lot of years & I am only 46!

I will pray & thank God for the opportunity to have something done that I really need!

Kathleen

Oh my gosh may I gush here??? You will be THRILLED with the eye surgery, make sure you get the best surgeon near you, no cost cutting on your eyes. My vision was 20/950 and I am not correctible to 20/20 anymore even with surgery. My right eye is close but my left eye is by guessing a year later about 20/50. Far cry from 20/950.

It was the easiest surgery I've ever done. Do everything they tell you, you will need a ride there and back, a day of rest, keep everything you need right beside you. Have sunglasses, pain pills water, snacks and anything else. It takes about 10 minutes in total (prep is much longer), they give you something to ease the nerves, you go in blind and walk out seeing. I cried - honest to God I cried. I stood up from the surgery table, everything was a fog but I could see people's faces. They kept telling me "don't cry!!" and laughing but they said it happens often.

I am over 40 so the short sight in my left eye is beneficial, I can get away without reading glasses still. I'm going to make an appt for glasses to wear at night because my night vision is horrible with the weak left eye - just for driving.

But I am so thrilled I can't say enough good things about it. Congrats that you are thinking of doing something for yourself!!!!
